Review of Supanet ISP:

In deciding the best I.S.P (Internet Service Provider) in the United Kingdom, there are important factors to think of, these include internet speed, monthly package costs and general internet reliability. Supanet (http://www.supanet.com) is a leading UK ISP provider which claims to provide all these important aspects. Their broadband rates are far cheaper than their competitors (ranging from 3.25 to 15.99 per month) and can still provide a reliable high quality internet connection with adequate speed as it is based on BT's (British Telecoms) newly upgraded broadband network. Due to this, Supanet easily won a converted spot in the list of the best UK ISPs for 2013 - 2014.

If you have simple internet needs when it comes to an internet connection, then you only have to pay 3.25 per month which is the light internet plan from Supanet. For such a low package price, you will be able to do your usual online activities like emailing or browsing. The plan comes with up to 24 Mbps speed, generous 10GB download limit and free weekend UK calls to numbers beginning with 01, 02 and 03. Surprisingly, this comes with a free wireless "n" broadband router (ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+) reported to be worth R.R.P 69.99 too.

All Supanet broadband deals come with a brand new ADSL2+ wireless router (reported to be a Kasda 5815H + excellent Broadcom Chipset), this router supports the latest wireless protocols (802.11 b), (802.11 g), (802.11 n) and has built in x4 Ethernet / LAN ports (10/100Mbps) with an impressive external 1T1R 3dBi Antenna that allows up to 150Mbps.  These routers also come fully optimised with the Supanet network and are pre-configured with your personal Supanet internet settings (TR-069 remote updating), so all you do is plug in and play, ideal for customers with no technical knowledge like silver surfers.

The Free Supanet wireless router (Router Brand Kasda 5815H) is also specially optimised for streaming data (films, music, data), downloading (films, music, data), and online gaming (Xbox Live, PC Gaming, Playstation). The router has all known gaming ports for the Top 50 online games forwarded as to allow superfast connections with zero pings, low latency and no internet dropouts.  The Supanet router also have excellent parental controls that allows you to block any adult themed websites or even limit the amount of time your children spend on the internet during schooldays. You can activate these settings yourself or you can contact Supanet and they will make the changes remotely from their head office in the UK without you doing anything technical.

The Supanet router also comes with an USB port that is version USB2.0 for superfast data transfer, this USB port can be used as a portal storage device by plugging in a memory stick (16GB limit). You can then put music, films, and pictures on the memory stick and all networked PC's, Notebooks, Tablets, Smartphones in the house can share the files and also stream movies (Netflix, LOVEFiLM, Blink Box) and TV shows (Breaking Bad, Sherlock Holmes, The Walking Dead) onto their wireless device.

Currently, Supanet have a special router upgrade offer, for just 99p a month you can upgrade this router to an smart router called Kasda 5835HG (300N, USB2.0, Shared Printer Port, R.R.P 109.99) this is the ultimate in router technology offering increased WiFi speeds and data transfer of 300Mbps. It comes with two powerful detachable external 3dbi antennas (2Tx2r) which means you can watch and stream movies anywhere in your house including your garden or garage due to the extended Wi-Fi range and power.  It also has an impressive printer sharing facility where you can print documents from any networked device to just one printer in the house, thus saving on hardware, ink and paper. It also now supports HD IPTV compatibility so you can now stream HD quality TV shows and HD movies directly to your PC, notebook, smartphone (Apple iPhone, Android), tablet (Apple iPad) or Internet Smart TV.

Another service that is unique to Supanet is for people who are living in flats or old houses with thick walls that have poor Wi-Fi range and speed. Supanet can provide a new piece of hardware called an internet booster / power booster for only 5.99 per month (this also includes a wireless n router worth R.R.P 49.99).  The internet booster takes advantage of your home's existing electrical wires to simultaneously transfer data (music, films, video) while transferring power. This means you have the power-line solution for quickly and easily networking PCs and other network-compatible devices, such as a gaming console (Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U) or set-top box (Virgin, TiVo, Freeview). With home-plug AV technology, users can get speed of 200Mbps on a line length of 300 metres, ideal for enjoying HD video streaming, online gaming or any other bandwidth intensive tasks for work or play.

supanet broadband reviews

If you are feeling scared about using the internet due to the number of virus, phishing and email attacks from around the world then Supanet provide a unique service that for just 3.25 a month you can get the excellent and well known Norman Anti-Virus and Internet Security package. Supanet offers an easy to use automatic solution for the protection against any kinds of viruses, worms, trojans and hackers. Its comprehensive anti-virus software with unlimited updates ensures that your computer, where all your personal and professional information is stored, is safe and secure.

Supanet are also willing to pay for any re-connection or contract fees if you are unhappy with your current broadband provider, these includes UK ISP's such as TalkTalk, Plusnet, Sky, Be Broadband, O2 and BT broadband. So if you want to switch ISP provider due to any speed or poor internet issues or overpriced bills then Supanet are willing to make this move seamless and with no or little extra cost, in fact you can even benefit from their cheaper broadband prices and line rental.

For faster internet speed, Supanet also offers an excellent unlimited plan which only costs 15.99 per month. For this great price, you can already enjoy up to 24Mbps internet speed and unlimited download limit with unlimited free UK calls.

The cost of broadband packages and broadband deals from Supanet is just a fraction of the costs from other competitors. Despite the affordable price, you would not worry about constant connection interruptions and speed that encounters down time as Supanet uses the stable and reliable core BT (British Telecom) network.

What made Supanet even better than others is the fact that they can give you an option to bundle your internet connection with phone services. The Supanet light package only costs 3.25 per month for the first three months then rises to a respectable 9.99 per month afterwards. If you would like to experience Supanet Unlimited package, this is only 15.99 per month and line rental using a BT line can be from just 13.80 per month.

Even the customer support of Supanet deserves commendation. Your Supanet queries and concerns will be dealt with by professionally trained UK support group who have over 10 years’ experience of supporting ISPs that is based right in the United Kingdom.

Benefits of Supanet Broadband:

  • Currently one of the UK's cheapest broadband deals at 3.25 per month for the first 3 months. (September 2013)
  • Very good deal on BT Line Rental at only 13.80 per month (pay 12 months upfront)
  • Well packaged broadband deals, easy to understand and well laid out and easy to understand.
  • Up to 24Mb fast internet connection that is reliable and fast as it uses the new core BT network.
  • All Supanet packages come with a free wireless n router that is fully optimised to make the internet run at its fastest and also comes with great features like parental controls and a USB (USB 2.0) port.
  • The optional choice to upgrade your free router to a smart router (300n) for only 99p a month. This router has an USB port, printer sharing, 300MB and 100% faster wifi.
  • Upgrade to a Superfast Fibre Broadband Offer (15.99 per month / Free UK Calls / Free 300n Router)
  • Excellent extra services like Internet Boosters, Power Boosters, Anti-Virus products and cheap printer ink refills.
  • UK based customer support that is quick in attending to customer concerns from UK call centres.

Disadvantages of Supanet Broadband:

  • Superfast internet connection (up to 24 Mbps+) is unavailable in some areas; you need to check your post code.
  • Still an unknown big brand ISP in the UK, but have a great backbone internet (BT main network) and the potential to be a big player in the broadband market.
  • There is some negative press and reviews of Supanet from the early 1990’s but it seems they have made improvements in their network and service levels in the last few years.

Recommendations for Supanet Broadband:

  • A better customer support section needs to be added that covers all customer issues and technical issues. Also, better FAQ's and maybe a Supanet broadband forum would be helpful with customers wanting quick information.
  • A good broadband comparison chart against other broadband providers such as TalkTalk, Plusnet, Sky, Be Broadband, O2 and BT broadband as Supanet beats most of these providers with cheaper costs and better services and features.

Just signed up to Supernet purely because they dont block any of my favourite streaming and torrent sites, I changed 2 times in last few years due to bloody BT, Sky blocking sites I use to watch USA tv. Thank that they are still providers who dont block, dont mind paying a bit more if i can actually use the net ! Happy...

Was looking for a small broadband provider who would allow me to watch live uk darts on a streaming site, my current provider talktalk is blocking all my sites and had the cheek to raise my bills last month - grrrr. DangerousDave if you are correct then I am going to check out supanet and if they dont block websites then going to sign up straight away, darts is unmissable nowadays with phil taylor losing his touch, and i cant afford sky tv so stream is just as good. Cheers... i owe you a beer !! lol

I have only been with Supanet for the last 4 months but so far so good, never a drop in signal loss of tv signals or issues with the phone. I have no idea why the others here have so much problems as I do not see the same issues here but as I said it's only been 4 months but 4 good months :)

I have been with Supanet for three and a half years on an internet only package for 30mbps fibre unlimited. Only leaving as I'm moving to a place where it's not available in the area (gutted). In 3.5 years we have had three probelms 1.) We had to request a better router to produce a wifi signal that would span the distance of our one bed flat. Sent with no problems. 2.) We lost service for about 2 days due to a problem with the nearest green box. We received regular emails to let us know what was going on and I think we received a small discount without having to ask for it. 3.) I have had problems logging on to the website for some reason. Repeatedly said my password was incorrect when it wasn't. Other than these three points the service has been consitant and fantastic. I am able to stream netflix while my fella plays games online with absolutely no issue. The download and upload speeds are rapid. The only time I have called customer services was today (to cancel) the entire call took about 5 minutes, so nothing I can complain about there.

Hi I am quite surprised that Supanet don't have a higher rating. Every time we have had an issue Supanet have been brilliant. You see the quality of a company based on their ability to resolve problems. I had a problem and was about to leave Supanet - was really pleased the problem was resolved very well hence this review. I know quality of service is more important and I must say on Supanet are good - could do better but in comparison I think are better then others my opinion Supanet look to resolve a problem not get you to agree to make a payment for an engineer to visit. A company as large as Supanet will have things go wrong - from me experience they make every effort to resolve the problem. If they fail they don't hide behind the contract. Overall I would give them 5* Well done Supanet keep up the good work

I have had Supanet fibre optic broadband for more than 5 years now. It is ONLINE 99.9% of the time. Even if their system goes down for a day they refund £5 on the monthly bill. Internet is super fast and extremely reliable. I know this because i have two houses and one has Supanet fibre and other has talktalk adsl. Just get the fibre optic, you will thank yourself. I am writing this review because i am missing my Supanet broadband at other house since it is being renovated now.

Can not rate Supanet enough. I have waiting for 1 month for Sky to set my internet up... Been messed around so much, they were rude, useless and didn't seem to care about losing me as a customer when I cancelled my contract. Supanet were so helpful, efficient and got my internet working in 48 hours - can't fault them at all!

I've managed to plan to install Supanet 2 weeks before I moved in. Technician came in and installed internet in 30 min on the date I wanted. There was an issue with telephone, well still is but I don't use it much so I don't bother. Internet works like a charm, 34mbs/3mbps/8ping. Never had any problem with it. Router is really good, when I had others from other companies I had to reboot them all the time, this one works since 3 months with really good speed and doesn't need any rebooting, maybe they reboot them at night? Never noticed that but I am very happy with customer service, and offer I got and I can recommend this internet to anyone.

I've been with Supanet since the end of June this year ( 2014 ) and I am very pleased overall. The installation was quick and simple and the technicians showed me how it all works. I only had one problem so far and when I called the customer service they were nothing but helpful and sent a technician out within a few days. Since then I've had great speeds both with downloading and gaming and no random drops which I frequently got with my previous provider.

I have been with Supanet for about 8 years now with Broadband and phone package. Although its a little pricey, I've never had any complaints with broadband speed or reliability. I had one issue about 2 years ago when my service completely stopped working, but this was fixed 2 days later by an engineer, free of charge.

Like many other people, when you ring up a major company you expect to be waiting on hold for a million hours only to become irate at the customer service attendant on the other end of the line. but to my surprise this experience was a good one. i was ringing Supanet on behalf of my dad as he was paying ridiculous amounts of money for the most bog standard package and had been doing so since 2007!! i was jubious when customer service said they would see what they could do and ring me back, i expected to be waiting for hours but within 5 minutes i received the call. i was greeted by the friendliest lady (cant remember her name....sam or maybe sarah) and my package was upgraded with the cost lowered and the whole thing was done in about 20 minutes. i couldn't of faulted them. great team and a great service

Supanet are by far the best internet provider, coming from an IT geek. Handles multiple devices very well and the speed is fantastic! I get 40mb/s for the same price it would cost to get 20mb/s from BT or Sky. Only downfall is their modem, it wouldn't overheat faster if you put it in an oven, get Supanet and with the money you save buy a proper modem from Asus.

I have been with Supanet for over 7 years having been with Talk Talk and BT. Talk Talk were very good and having bad experience with BT changed to Supanetbecause the speeds and prices were better overall. Over the years Supanet have never failed to impress me. Supanet's customer service is fantastic. They have rewarded loyalty with making sure that my package is always cheaper than for new customers. And they allow me to review it every year to make sure I am still getting the best deal. As an example my broadband speeds used to be 15mb and speed tests showed I was getting 17mb. When I asked about further upgrades they told me that I could be upgraded to 40mb and still have my loyalty deal. In addition they reduced the price further. Good customer service can also be measured in response to when things do go wrong. Once again, their call centres, whether abroad or here (can't tell the difference anymore) are on the ball. My issues, whether TV or Broadband have always been resolved in one phone call.

We've been with Supanet for years. We have only suffered a few occasional service drops and they have been rectified pretty swiftly too. We only had tv and internet with the until we. got a phone call on Monday offering us the latest router if we took out a phone line, too. It actually worked out £20 less each month, so we went ahead with it. They arrived today, hooked everything up, and tidied up when finished too. I couldn't be happier with the service if I'm honest.

In comparison to the other reviews, I had a good experience with Supanet last year. Our package was 20mbit. Our speed was at least 20mbit ALL THE TIME. It sometimes reached 25mbit. Very very few dropouts, never lasted more than 5 minutes. Customer service has always been great. They even give you the mobile number and email of the person you are on the phone with (and they really do try and phone you back, even if you are in another continent!) Signed up for a new package, they gave me a 6 month contract. Free installation. Slight wait for the engineer though, but that's the same in all the other cheap broadbands

Left BT 2 years ago as they still insist on extra £17 pm for a phone line PLUS £27 for broadband but Supanet charge £24,50 for 30meg broadband only, and I use VOIP for phone calls, speed usually around 33,5 megs, av phone bill £3-4 pm. Everything done when promised, everything reconnected within 24 hours of moving home, one streetbox problem in 2 years fixed within 24 hours, about to get free upgrade to 40megs, VERY happy with Supanet, could never go back to high price and extremely poor service I got from BT.

install on time and professional. thing is with most broadband, its just luck of draw. it might be brilliant, it might be awful. so many factors influence this beyond the name of the company who you choose. so far is better than we dreamed but it could change, so fingers crossed it stays good

Very impressed. Easy to order. Good communication. Engineer arrived as arranged and explained and set up everything including my laptop and internet tv. All speeds as advertised. Previously very disappointed with Talk Talk. I found my home powerline didnt get good speeds but that was down to older equipment not supporting the speed. Pleased that I moved.

The download speed is fine - 30Mbps spot on, never varies. The upload speed is poor though - 2Mbps on a good day and often less than this. I really don't understand why Supanet don't provide better upload speeds with their packages.

Just relocated from Essex where we also had Supanet, which ran fine- broadband being connected by ethernet on that occasion. Was a bit reluctant to go down the wireless route as had heard some real horror stories. but had to by necessity. My main problem was having a 2008 Mac Pro tower with no Airport card installed which I wanted in the attic (every man should have an attic). Didn't want to cable all the way from there to the lounge so (after much research and forum help) got a set of home plugs. To cut a long story short, Supanet man turned up at 1.25 and had finished setting up TV, broadband and phone by 2.20 (and was also a jolly nice chap). Homeplugs work brilliantly - getting a steady 35meg speed from my 40meg package. In summary…very happy customer!

Been a customer for about 14 years. Just seems the more I pay, the less I get. I would have liked to post a photo of the way my cable was run. The installer could not be bothered (or was too stupid) to pass the cable behind my washing line. There is a loop of cable in front of the washing line where it comes down the wall. Not good.

We were happy customers of BT infinity in our previous home, even though speeds were never even half of the '76mb' claimed - at least it was faster than ASDL2 and very solid, never going down once. We were nervous of Supanet as over the years friends have had various issues with them. But BT just couldn't deliver so out of desperation we went with them. It's only been installed a short while so can't comment on longer term reliability the speeds are blazing, with over 40MB frequently achieved.

I am totally satisfied with Supanet's service. I have never been traffic managed and have had only one fault since 2007. When I have contacted customer services they have always got the job done. The TV service is excellent. They do what it says on the box. I can pick up the WiFi 50 meters down my garden and strongly anywhere in my house. Even my android phone gets a download speed of 25Mb. Thanks Supanet.

I have the full shooting match. The telephone is faultless. The broadband is pretty good. I was delighted to hear that my internet bandwidth was to be doubled from 20Mb to 40Mb FREE of charge. I still get an average of about 15Mb, the same as before the free increase, fancy that. Today the TV goes in. All the services that I have had have been reliable and, although they don't necessarily live up to Supanet's promises/claims, have been better than anything that I have had from the competition.

I see a lot of people have negative things to say about Supanet but I can honestly say that I have never had one single problem with Supanet or their services. I have the full Supanet package, Appy TV, 40 Mb broadband and also their telephone service. I have been with Supanet for several years and never had a problem with them

At first I was impressed but am becoming less and less impressed. We keep getting problems with the tv crashing and channels pixelating. A few months after signing up I was notified that the price would be increasing in the new year. I signed up for 18 months. The first 6 months were supposed to be half price. I think it is awful that they can increase the prices only a few months into the contract.

I pay for 'up to 40mb broadband, it has never dropped (on test) below 59.74mb and as high as 63.2! 5 stars for this service.

Overall a great experience, I got burned by them a few years back and sweared never again but i'm now back as I want higher speeds and that's what I got. Some people here keep writting that they can't download a file at 10meg or 20meg and that it's nowhere near.. You don't understand how it works! it's not megabytes per second, it's megabits per second.. Take for example a 10meg connection.. The most you will be able to download at is around 1.2Mbps. Don't confuse your megabytes with your megabits people!

My experience has been second to none. I get my full 40Mb any time of day and night and have never had an outage in 24 months on this package. My upload is always 4.7Mb+. My connection has no packet loss and 0 jitter most of the time. Customer service has generally been good for me.

Supanet are so reliable and have free customer service to call direct from your house phone. Always sort out your queries when you call. Very professional and polite.

I was with them for over two years and never had a problem but the minute I moved house it was a night mare. They moved me home and forgot to chance the number. then changed the number and put the adderss to my old one and it was a total night mare. THen at the end of my contract they just cancelled my account with out telling me. But before all that I found them reliable never had a prblem with the connection and the speed as the cheaper providers.

I am completely satisfied with Supanet's service especially now we have 5Mb upload just around the corner. Customer service has always been good. There have never been any outages and speeds are virtually always at or slightly above 30Mb.

I have been completely satisfied with my package and supplier. I have consistently achieved the full 40Mb/1.5Mb down/up speed I am supposed to. There have never been any outages. The supplied wireless 'n' router has provided high broadband speeds throughout my home network. Supanet should consider a router with gigabit ethernet capabilities now. Customer services have always come up with answers to technical queries.

Very reliable service providing good speed - maybe need to refresh the modem once in a while to maintain top speeds plus they provided a new modem last year which obtained the 20mb or at least 18-19mb. Can't fault them. I am thinking of changing but I know I will miss the reliable & fast service so might just see if they can offer a better price deal. Their tv is good and I can't really fault them.

Shocked at how good the customer service was. Called them last night re problem with phone line. They offered engineer visit next day and £10 compensation without me even asking. Opted for visit next week to suit me. Just got home, card through the door to say they popped round anyway and have fixed it. 10/10 customer service.

I have been with Supanet since they started and have to say I'm amazed at their product. I've never needed to contact them with a problem unlike my in laws bt infinity which is more like dial up. Supanet win hands down in the broadband market.

I'm on Supanet's fibre broadband. I've only had it for a month, so early days, but so far so good. I work in software / networking and this allows me to work from home as efficiently as if I were in the office. Reliability has been 100% so far as well.

My elderly father, who is 78 years old, recently got Supanet installed. As a pensioner, he asked if there were any discount to the £50 installation fee. The bloke offered to install for £29.99

My speed was doubled from 20mb to 40mb, and the speed has never dropped below 40mb at any time of the day, no dropouts or speed reduction over a 24hr period.

I have only been with Supanet for the last 4 months but so far so good, never a drop in signal loss of tv signals or issues with the phone. I have no idea why the others here have so much problems as I do not see the same issues here but as I said only been 4 months but 4 good months :)

Supanet... Extremely poor service and appalling behavior on their help service phone line. No respect for the individual customer. If you call them round to fix a problem they do not inform you at any time if they can't make it.

To begin with, I'd like to state that I only use Supanet's fibre broadband. I noticed other reviews were criticizing other aspects of Supanet's service: I can't comment on that. For me, the service has been smooth right from the outset. The installation was done on time and the service worked perfectly right from the start. I've had incredible speeds and this has been true whether in peak time or otherwise. The connection has also been very reliable... in fact, during the past 4 months that I have used the service the connection has not dropped even once. Maybe I got a bit lucky judging by the other reviews here. From my own experience, however, I would definitely recommend Supanet's broadband to a friend!

We gave up on Supanet broadband about three years ago as it was hopelessly unreliable and customer service was very poor. After two years with Sky and the TV picture regularly freezing in wet or windy weather we decided to try them again about a year ago. Since then phone, TV and broadband have been completely reliable and we get a consistent 30MB internet speed. Whoever runs Supanet seems to think that customers are mainly interested in the doings of little known 'celebrities' and topics such as the worst dressed stars, which means that we will probably move again when the contract expires.

I have herd mixed reviews about Supanet but gave it a go. The communication was clear, I had a text a few days before to confirm, the engineer called on the morning and the install was quick and painless. The broadband speed is slightly higher than I have paid for - and in the month I have had the service I have had no issues, consistent speeds and a reliable service. I have not had to call customer services as its all gone well so far.

TO buck a tend, I have lived in Cheltenham for two years, and have had Supanet broadband for that time in the property. We had issues with the Supanet hub, and they replaced that for free, in my time with Supanet, we have been given the speeds we pay for, and the service when talking to them on the phone has been great. I would advise that anyone who thinks they are paying too much for their service, contacts their retentions team they are happy to assist and will always give you a fair deal if not better then whats on the website.
