Benefits of the TalkTalk Huawei HG533 Router

Some people easily assume that there are only a few routers brands in the market that can deliver fast and reliable internet connection. Truth is, when it comes to choosing a router, the popularity of the brand is not the only thing that is important. There are other more essential aspects to consider like functionality, features, ease of use and durability.

The Huawei HG533 which is provided by TalkTalk is among the best routers that are available today. Huawei is a company which has a good reputation when it comes to creating dependable routers for the major UK ISP’s today. They ensure that all components used for their routers are of high quality and that each unit will deliver the demands and expectations of users.

Huawei HG533: Cost-Efficiency

Among the primary advantages of Huawei HG533 is cost-efficiency. This is only a fraction of the price of other available routers in the market today. On the plus side, even if it is much cheaper, it also has the same innovative features. The technologies used for its design and engineering can easily compete with other more expensive brands. Why purchase a router which can seriously damage the budget if there is a more affordable option from Huawei?

Users have to be smarter these days and not be easily fooled by extensive marketing. Huawei may not be as popular as other brands but it should be emphasized that this is just as reliable. More importantly, it also has the functions that internet users demand for.

Huawei HG533: Impressive Router Design

The Huawei HG533 is nothing like the flimsy, bulky and dull-looking routers. Whether it is used for home or small office, there is no need to tuck it in a hidden corner because it is not appealing. It is designed to exude class and sophistication.

The enclosure of the router is made of thick and durable plastic. The bigger part of the casing is in matte finish. However, half of the surface is comes in shiny black which makes it look even more sleek. There are two available colors for this model—black and deep gray.

The indicator lights are found on the surface which is a good thing because it makes it easy to check the functions of the router. It can be positioned both horizontally and vertically. Placing it horizontally will make it more stable. On the other hand, if it is necessary to save space, the stand can be used to provide support.

The design is very simplistic but it is also the reason why it looks so elegant. It looks like an ordinary rectangular box but it has a very modern appeal.

Huawei HG533: 4-in-1 Router Functions

What sets the Huawei HG533 apart from other option these days is the fact that it has multiple functions. It is quite amazing that something so pocket-friendly can deliver more than what the more expensive brands can give.

First of all, this is an ADSL2+ modem. Yes, ADSL2+ is the latest technology for routers these days which is far better than its predecessor ADSL2. Internet service providers have been competing when it comes to offering ultra-fast internet connection. To be able to maximize the services, it is important to have a router which can handle swift speed. Or else, customers would not be able to fully utilize the internet connection that they are paying for. That is why; using the Huawei HG533 is an excellent option. Since it runs on ADSL2+, it would not work against the impressive services from TalkTalk. It has to be noted though that even if this is geared with the latest technology, it is still compatible with ADSL.

Second, it is also an efficient ADSL router. This makes it perfect even for use in small offices. It can handle multiple computers which are connected through the Ethernet ports. At the same time, it does an excellent job in providing uninterrupted Wi-Fi connection.

Third, it also functions as a 3G router. This means that it can transmit signal which is suitable for mobile internet. Hence, all portable devices and computers that are within its range can access the internet so long as it is geared with wireless connection capability.

Fourth, with the use of this router, it is possible to set up a print server. This means that if there are multiple computers which utilize the same network, there is no need to rely on cabled connection just to make the printer work. The data or file could be transmitted via the network connection and the printer which is connected to the router will receive it.

Huawei HG533: Multiple Ports and Easy to Use Buttons

Typically, the number of ports sets the limit and capacity of the router. The Huawei HG533 is an excellent choice even for small offices because it is designed to handle several devices and computers. It has 2 phone jacks, and ADSL port and four LAN ports.

Aside from four different computers which use the Ethernet cable connection, other devices can still connect wirelessly. The company designed this router with a power button for the Wi-Fi. That way, if wireless connection is needed, it can provide excellent signal. On the other hand, if it is necessary to maximize the bandwidth through cable connection, the Wi-Fi can be powered off.

There are two available USB ports. These two are used for the 3G USB modem and the other one is for the USB printer.

Huawei HG533: Top of the Line Hardware

There is no doubt that even if all the functions of the Huawei HG533 are used extensively, this would not fail in providing excellent internet connection. It is created using the latest Broadcom chipset. Aside from that, it also has 16MB ROM and 64 MB RAM.

Huawei HG533: Overall Evaluation  6 out of 10

There is no doubt that Huawei HG533 can give a whole lot of benefits for TalkTalk users. Aside from the impressive affordability of this router, it is still very powerful. It is designed for long-term use. Because it has the latest innovations when it comes to router functions, those who own one would enjoy using it for many years to come.

  1. Are you kidding? I’ve got it on a 38Mbps FTTC connection. A laptop connected to the back registered 36Mbps. WiFi to my iPad standing next to it is c. 20Mbps. A couple of rooms (25ft) away it drops to 0.75Mbps, significantly worse than my old 3Com router on a (less than) 8Mbps ADSL connection. Looking at other comments from TalkTalk customers I’m not alone in my quest to replace it.

  2. David,
On the talk talk website they are currently developing a firmware update for router as there is believed to be multiple issues with reliability. However i am also in the same boat as you and are also on the 38Mbps FTTC connection, and find the service 90% of the time reliable. A problem that you may be having with you iPad is that i may be a older generation where the maximum download speed is only around the 20Mbps limit, as I am have the same problem with an iPhone 4. The only way to fix this is by buying the latest iPad which support faster connections, due to the support of 4G.
